Who Is Cora Jakes Coleman's Husband, Richard Brandon Coleman?

Cora Jakes Coleman married her husband, Richard Brandon Coleman in June 2020.

Richard is a well-known rapper in Dallas who goes by the stage name "Skii Ventura." He is best known for his hit songs Don't Run From Me, Money & Power, and Corpus, which are all available on popular online streaming services.

Cora met Richard when she was in the midst of a string of failed relationships. In 2018, Richard survived kidney failure.

Bishop T.D. Jakes and wife Serita welcomed 150 close family and friends to their home on Saturday, June 4th, to watch their daughter Cora marry Coleman in a private ceremony. Bishop Jakes officiated the ceremony and walked his daughter down the aisle. The day's theme was a peach and cream "Southern Affair."

Cora chose those colors to honor her family because they were used at her parents' wedding 32 years ago.  However, rumors of their divorce circulated after Richard was alleged to child misapply in May 2022.

The Colemans divorced earlier this year after it was revealed that Richard had been detained for ongoing abuse of one of his and Cora's adopted minor children. On Thursday, a spokesperson for Cora refused online allegations that she manipulated a vulnerable Texas mother into giving up her child for adoption as "slanderous".

The spokesperson insisted that all 34-year-old divorcée's adoptions were legally completed.

"Despite slanderous attempts to discredit Cora Jakes, her children were properly adopted after a multi-year process that included numerous checks and reviews."

According to the spokesperson, any claims to the contrary are false and defamatory. "The adoptions are legally binding, the relevant documents and court proceedings preclude detailed public commentary."

The Wayne McCollum Detention Center in Waxahachie, Texas, confirmed to The Christian Post that Richard Coleman has remained in custody since his arrest on May 4 on a $150,000 bond.

The couple adopted two children, Amauri, 13, and Jason, 7, while married. Michelle Loud, a Texas hairstylist, identified herself as Jason's biological mother in a tearful video posted online shortly after her ex-arrest husband was made public.

She expressed concern for her son's safety and accused Cora Jakes and her ex-husband of coercing her into giving up her son while she was vulnerable.

Meet TD Jakes' Daughter, Cora Jakes Coleman

Cora Jakes Coleman, the daughter of Bishop TD Jake, is a preacher and associate pastor at The Potter's House Church of Dallas, where she oversees the children's ministry.

She is an accomplished speaker and bestselling author whose books reveal her powerful testimony of overcoming obstacles. The pastor's goal is to teach people how to fight for the life they want. She uses her platform effectively to show people how to pray and ask God what they want using the "five principles of prayer."

She is open and honest about her infertility struggles. She was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome) when she was 22 years old and was devastated.

Cora chose IVF as an alternative method of conception to overcome infertility caused by PCOS. She describes feeling angry and pulverized after learning that the second round of IVF was unsuccessful. But, she channeled that emotion into an inspirational blog and book, Faithing It: Bringing Purpose Back to Your Life!

Cora Jakes Coleman Talked About Adoption

After the infertility issues, she opted for adoption. Women who want to be mothers may see adoption as a way to raise and love a child.

You are a mother whether you give birth or adopt. "I never associate motherhood with birthing, but rather with what you create and nurture." "It is the nurturing, not the birthing, that makes you a mother," Coleman says.

Cora's adoption journey was long and difficult, but it was well worth it. Coleman explains, "Adoption was a long process with a lot of paperwork."

"Through foster care, we were able to adopt our first child." Her daughter was adopted when she was three, and her son was born into the family."
